Honoring Jeane Thomson

A memorial fund in honor of Jeane Thomson has been established at The Anacortes Library Foundation. Jeane was both a Library Trustee and a Master Gardener. The memorial takes three forms.

The READ Garden at the base of the library's flagpole. The READ Garden was conceived and installed as a group effort of the Memorial Committee, which will be keeping an eye not he Garden and make sure it is properly maintained. Was designed for minimal upkeep. More info

Establishment and maintenance of a comprehensive collection of books and periodicals on Gardening. This memorial will provide a comprehensive selection of books, periodicals and a lecture series focused on Pacific Northwest Gardening. The collection was funded with over $14,000 in contributions. An annual Lecture Series on Gardening. The first lectures took place in 2010 and 2011. More info
